May is a busy time on the farm!  Join Gale Woods farmers caring for farm animals, transplanting plants in the greenhouse and planting in the garden.  Farm Explorers will assist the farmers with chores and make a farm fresh snack.

Parents and non-enrolled siblings

• Parents and non-enrolled siblings are welcome to stay and explore Gale Woods Farm on their own during the class period.
• Older siblings may be interested in the Hoofs and Halters program for ages 10 to 14.
• Parents are also invited to participate in the class as chaperones and educators, however, non-enrolled siblings may not participate.

Payment information

Payment must be received by: Sat, May 7, 2011 - 12:00pm

Please follow each step carefully to ensure your registration:

1. Immediately after you register, you will be sent an email confirmation and payment instructions from "admin [at] homeschoolrecess [dot] com." Make sure your email filters recognize this address as a legitimate sender.
   If you don't receive this email, please check your spam folder. Contact the organizer if you are unable to find it.
2. Send your payment promptly, preferably the same day that you register.
3. When the organizer records receipt of your payment, you will be emailed a payment receipt from "admin [at] homeschoolrecess [dot] com." If the payment deadline is approaching, and you've sent your payment but haven't received a receipt, please contact the organizer.
4. If the organizer doesn't receive payment by the deadline, your name may be removed from the registration list.

Cancellation information

Cancellation deadline: Sun, May 8, 2011 - 9:00pm

Pre-paid registrations that are cancelled at least 15 days in advance are 100% refundable; less than 15 days and more than 5 days are 50% refundable; and, 5 days or less are not refundable. Programs will take place rain or shine. If a program is cancelled by park staff you will be notified and a full refund or credit will be issued upon your request. Registrations made on the Web must be cancelled by calling the Park District Reservations Office at 763/559-6700 Monday-Friday between the hours of 8a.m.-5p.m.

Please arrive by:

Please plan to be about 15 minutes early to avoid being late due to inadequate maps, confusing road signs, road construction, heavy traffic, parking difficulties, inclement weather or uncooperative children. Please allow yourself plenty of time to park, visit the restrooms, check in, and otherwise prepare for our program to start promptly at 1:00pm 

Where to meet:

Please meet your Farm Educator in the reception area of the Farm Education Center

Food policy:

Participants will be handling and preparing various foods from the farm. Please let the organizer know of any food-related allergies, sensitivities, or other dietary restrictions. Please remind the Farm Educator of any food-related allergies, sensitivities, or other dietary restrictions when you arrive. ------- No food or drink is permitted in the animal barns. Alternate plans:

Farm Explorers will not be cancelled due to weather. Please plan accordingly. Portions of this class will be outdoors, please dress for the weather.
