Description
Join the Gale Woods Farmers for farming fun. Learn how the farmers care for the animals and gardens through out the year. Each month we will care for the animals and cook with farm produce in the education center. Explore the farm through hikes, wagon rides and games. Each month will have a different seasonal focus.
Program Details:
- Parents must accompany children ages 2-4 in the role of educators and chaperones.
- Parents of children ages 5-11 are also invited to participate in the class as educators and chaperones.
- Our group will be divided into two sub-groups for a portion of the program:
* Children ages 5-11 will go with a Farm Educator to learn about animal care and other farm responsibilities. This portion of the program will be targeted towards the skills of the average 1st-3rd grade child.
* Children ages 2-4 and their parents will go with another Farm Educator for age appropriate activities.
* Older children who do not wish to separate from their parents are welcome to remain with their parents and younger siblings, but younger children may not join the group for older children. (Parents without younger children may accompany the older children.) - All ages will be together during food preparation, hikes, and outdoor activities.
