Description
The mask is a disguise, but it can also be a useful one; however, all masks fall away and in the end we are left with our true selves. In their newest dance piece, Delfos examines the masks we wear to survive, to love and to endure the world that seems never to want us to take our masks off.
Delfos Danza Contemporánea was founded in 1992 by Mexican choreographers/ dancers Claudia Lavista and Victor Manuel Ruiz. Calling Mazatlán, Mexico homebase, the company is a unique collective of artists whose creative vision is characterized by the fluid physicality and poetic narratives within their diverse repertoire.
Study guides are posted online 3 to 4 weeks prior the performance at www.ordway.org/education/studyguides/

How can I possibly know if I'll be available next fall?
You can't guarantee it. For all you know, you might be living overseas come fall.
What you can do is make two personal commitments:
- to attend if you are able.
- to find a replacement for your family if you're not.
Both commitments are equally important, and you shouldn't register for this event if you're not willing to make both of them. These performances are heavily subsidized and extremely popular, so wasting tickets is just not cool.
You'll receive an email reminder four weeks before the performance (and a second reminder four days before). If your circumstances have changed, those four weeks will give you plenty of time to transfer your tickets.
Be forewarned that you will be responsible for any transfers made after the registration deadline. You post to Homeschool Adventures that the tickets are available, and interested persons contact you directly about the tickets. Reimbursements will be handled between you and your substitute. Please inform the organizer of any transfers!
To give you a sense of the situation, the organizer had 35 families register in the summer of 2010 for a February 2011 performance and 4 of them chose to (successfully) transfer their tickets when the early reminder was sent out. The organizer asks that you handle the transfer because she will have already collected payment from you and paid the Ordway, so reimbursements are best handled directly between you and your replacement without the organizer acting as a go-between. The organizer asks that you let her know about any transfers so that she is not surprised or confused when your substitutes show up to claim your spots.
Payment information
Payment must be received by: Fri, Aug 10, 2012 - 5:00pm
- Immediately after you register, you will be sent an email confirmation and payment instructions from "admin(at)homeschoolrecess(dot)com". Make sure your email filters recognize this address as a legitimate sender. If you don't receive this email, please check your spam, junk or bulk mail folder. Contact the organizer if you are unable to find it; if you receive no response to your email, please call the organizer.
- Please plan to send your payment the same day that you register. If you are unable to do so, you must contact the organizer within 72 hours to confirm your registration and make payment arrangements. You are not officially registered until the organizer receives either your payment. If the organizer doesn't hear from you one way or the other within 72 hours, your family may removed from the registration list. This protects the organizer from non-payment due to payment instructions blocked by overly aggressive spam protection.
- When the organizer receives your payment, you will be emailed a payment receipt from admin(at)homeschoolrecess(dot)com. The organizer updates payment records daily. If you've sent your payment and haven't received a payment confirmation, please contact the organizer by email or phone.
- Please make your payment promptly. If the organizer doesn't receive payment by the payment deadline, your family may be removed from the registration list.
- If you need to cancel your registration, please do so via an email request to the organizer. Non-payment is not an acceptable way to cancel your registration.
