Makers Market 2020 Marketing

We need all Makers on board to help ensure a successful event!

All makers are expected to help promote the Makers Market to their family, friends, and community to help ensure a successful event for everyone!

It is assumed that makers will be making their own marketing materials that will highlight their own Maker Booth. These materials might include:

  • your maker booth preview
  • postcards
  • flyers and posters
  • invitations
  • business cards
  • Facebook events
  • Facebook pages
  • Other social media (Twitter, Instagram, etc.)

1. Maker Booth Previews

Please create your maker booth preview entry for our online booth preview promptly. (You need to be logged in to access the maker booth preview creation form.)

Information on Maker Booth Previews is now addressed in more detail at Your Maker Booth Previews.

2. Makers Market logoMakers Market

Makers may use the Makers Market logo in their booth marketing materials.

3. Use social media

  • Invite your friends, family and neighbors to the Makers Market Facebook Event. — Invited friends will be notified about Maker Booth Previews and receive an automated reminder to attend!
  • Invite your friends, family and neighbors to like the Makers Market Facebook Page.
  • You are encouraged to create your own Facebook Event and/or Facebook page specific to your booth and your creations as your friends and family will respond more positively to a Facebook Event that is specifically about YOU.

If you create your own public Facebook Event specific to your Maker Booth:

  • Use your event to highlight your Maker Booth by using your Maker Booth Name in the Event title, such as “Molly Maker at Makers Market” or just “Molly Maker.”
  • Use your event to highlight your Maker Booth by using an image or slideshow of what you’ve made or of you as the event's cover image. You may use the Makers Market logo as well, if you wish.
  • Invite Makers Market to co-host your public event.
  • Ask the Makers Market page admins to post about your public event on the Makers Market page.
  • Whether your own Facebook Event or the general Makers Market Facebook Event, share the event to your Facebook Groups (if allowed by their posting policies).
  • Tweet about the Makers Market, @MakersMarketTC.
  • Retweet the Makers Market, @MakersMarketTC.

4. Word-of-mouth | flyer

  • Brag about your amazing creations and encourage people to come and shop.
  • Please talk about the the Makers Market to your family, friends and neighbors.
  • Please post about the Makers Market in the online homeschool groups to which you belong (if permitted by the group's posting policies).
  • Please post about the Makers Market in the any other groups to which you belong (if permitted by the group's posting policies).
  • If you have a location where you can post a flyer, please print one out and hang it up — and remember that you're encouraged to create your own booth-specific flyer as well

Makers Market flyerAll Maker Booths that have created a Maker Booth Preview by Sun 22 Nov 2020 (2 weeks prior to the Makers Market) will have their Maker Booth logo included in an updated poster design.

How do I invite friends to the Facebook event?

Look in the right hand side of the menu bar below the event header image for a button labeled “Invite” (with the envelope icon). Click that and choose between “Choose Friends” to invite individuals or “Share Event” to post the event to your own Timeline.

You may see a "Share" icon instead of an "Invite" icon — it works the same way.

You may also need to first say that you yourself are attending the event.

Below is an image that you can download to share via email or social media — and remember that you're encouraged to create your own booth-specific images as well.
