Gammelgarden Museum
Location
From their website:
Gammelgården (old small farm) Museum, is owned by Elim Lutheran Church and since 1972 has preserved, presented, and promoted Swedish immigrant heritage and history.
The 5 historic buildings located on the Gammelgården property help tell the story of the early Swedish Immigrant to Minnesota and the community and life style they created. Several are original to the 11 acre site; others are from the Scandia community and were re-located on the museum property to share with you. When you come to tour, you will visit the building in chronological order-oldest to newest. Three of the historic buildings are constructed of logs. The Välkommen Hus, (welcome house or Visitors Center) is of new construction. It is here to welcome you when you come to visit.
They have quite a few events during the year, including Bluegrass and Lemonade in the Shade, Annies Coffee Parties, Comin' to Amerika kids summer programs, Midsommar Dag celebration, Swedish Sausage class, Betsy-Tacy Book Club @ Gammelgården, Spelmansstamma, Lucia Dagen worship, breakfast and program
