These sandstone caves have a fascinating and thrilling history which is narrated by Down in History Tour's knowledgeable, talented, entertaining and historically dressed character guides. Explore the original mined caves and see the finished caves (once a romantic night club called The Castle Royal) while hearing the legends of the mobster massacres and ghostly lore in the most unique setting from Chicago to San Francisco.

The Wabasha Street Caves were featured on the History Channel's "Secret Passages."

The former Castle Royal is kept heated to 65-70 degrees. The sandstone part of the cave is about 55 degrees year-round.

Restrooms are in Grumpy Steve’s Coffee or the gas station across the street.

Wabasha Street Caves are located at 215 Wabasha St S which is about one block south of Plato on Wabasha in the West Side neighborhood of Saint Paul.

There is free parking in the lot on site. There should be more than enough room in that lot, but, if need be, there is overflow parking in the HealthPartners lot across the street.

Metro Transit Route 67 and Metro Transit Route 75 stop right outside the Caves.
